CONSULTATIVE PAPERS
Participation in ABCO provides members with a medium for the exchange of ideas and opportunities to, for among other things, collectively addressing proposed legislation (or changes to existing legislation) impacting the financial industry. Members are invited to participate in sub-committees (i.e. Banking, Insurance, Investments & Mutual Funds, Legal and Trusts) working together in dealing with issues and concerns in their spheres of expertise and educating their colleagues via information sessions.
ABCO ‘s Executive Committee invites members to take seriously opportunities provided to comment on draft legislation. Currently, the significant consultative papers that have been distributed for market consultation are the following:
- The Bermuda Immigration and Protection Amendment Bill 2007:
- Proceeds of Crime Amendment Bill 2007;
- Financial Intelligence Agency Bill 2007;
- Criminal Justice (International Cooperation)(Bermuda) Amendment Bill 2007.
